What is Marine Style Fitness?
Marine Style Fitness was founded by former Marine and certified fitness trainer Dan Collins and is a place where people from all walks of life can obtain the levels of fitness that a US Marine enjoys. There is a “secret” to having success with any fitness program and that is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. However, simple doesn’t mean easy and only means that it is the foundational principles practiced over and over that allow you to build a life of total body health. The Marine Corps utilizes these foundational principles and that is what I specialize in.
How does it work?
Marine Style Fitness is a great source for fitness enthusiasts of all ages and types. I only utilize Marine Style principles so it is not designed for Marines only but anyone who is looking to get into great shape. Simply look around the site and learn a little bit about how you can lose fat, build muscle and feel great about yourself.
I can’t afford to join a gym, can Marine Style Fitness still help me?
Absolutely! That’s one of our best features. The workouts you find at Marine Style Fitness allow you to get in shape without time-consuming gym visits, expensive gym equipment or ridiculous infomercial products. Some of the workouts we have available do require you to have a weight bench and a set of dumbbells. Other products may be recommended but not required.
Do your workouts require any special equipment?
A lot of the workouts at Marine Style Fitness do not require any equipment other than a pull-up bar. Some of our strength training programs require some sort of weights such as dumbbells & a workout bench.
I’m not a Marine, can I still use your services?
Absolutely! This site isn’t built for Marines only. I have simply taken my knowledge and experience of being Marines and have designed workouts and routines that utilize the same effective principles. Don’t worry, you won’t get yelled at or be expected to perform like a Marine who is in top shape. You’ll go at your own pace and experience growth the way you choose and I am here to help you along the way.
Marines run a lot don’t they? I can’t run or don’t like to run.
Yes, Marines do a lot of running as it is a very important exercise to help condition the cardiovascular system. It is also one of the least costly exercises since no equipment is needed other than a pair of running shoes. However, you don’t ever have to run if you don’t want to. You can simply substitute running for your favorite cardiovascular exercise. That is entirely up to you.
Do you recommend supplements that I will need to take?
Absolutely NOT! I don’t utilize any supplements unless they are all natural and used to supplement your daily food intake such as protein, whole food vitamins, etc. I am not a believer in taking every type of substance out there just for some quick results. As stated above, I stick with foundational principles and do not get occupied with gimmicky supplements, diets, workout methods or anything else that people are not likely to stick with for the long term. Health & fitness is too easy to be reliant on any of these dangerous things.
