If so, you probably already know that becoming a Marine is no easy task. This can also be said of any branch of the military. Obviously, if one is training to go to war, it stands to reason that this should be no easy task.
Marines are well trained and Marine boot camp is one of the toughest training camps in the world. As a young teenager, one of the things that made me want to become a Marine was the uniform.
I’ll admit that Marines look awesome in their Dress Blues and I wanted to wear that uniform as soon as I could.
Of course, I understood that those who wore that uniform had earned the right to do so. I knew that they had gone through tough training and endured challenges that I could only imagine.
To me, they seemed almost non-human. As if they were invincible superheroes of some sort.
I dared to begin the challenge of becoming one of those few and proud superheroes and I’m glad I did. Of course, having served, I know that Marines are not superheroes and they definitely are not invincible. They are ordinary men and women who do extraordinary things each and every day.
There is no finer group of men and women that I would want by my side in challenging situations whether it be war or any other type of challenge I could face in life.
If you are looking to become one of the few, I hope you’ll take it serious enough to get in great shape before you head off to boot camp.
This section will help you adapt to some of the ways that recruits train and will help you develop the strength and endurance needed to perform well.
Fitness is an important part of preparing for boot camp but there is mental preparation that needs to be taken into consideration as well.
Good luck on your journey and I look forward to being part of the process that helps you to become one of the few and the proud.
