The cool thing about this book is how close it is to the actual training. While some of the training has changed and been updated over the years, the book immerses you into the spirit of boot camp and makes you feel like you are part of the platoon yourself.
It was neat to arrive at Parris Island with images of this book still in my head. I felt as if I had lived some of the process already and feelings a deja vu surfaced at times.
